The suction cups grip the wall. They are portable. They can be removed from the wall and relocated simply by lifting up the tabs. The strong Suction Cup is designed to work on any non-porous, flat surface, which includes flat tiles, glass, porcelain or fibreglass. No tools or drilling required. They are designed to give you confidence while moving in slippery areas. Ideal Mobility Aid for toilet, shower or bath. Note: If your walls are uneven or have a rough surface do NOT buy these. Likewise if you have tiles that are NOT flat, or are textured do not buy. The grab rails will also not work on tiles that are 4" x 4". The tiles must be larger than 4" x 4" because the suction discs cannot be mounted on grout seams. I can confirm that these hand rails have never been used. I removed the items from their box for photos only. On my scales, the box with the two grab/ handrails weigh 640 grams
